A DGI Investor

Born in 1965, I have since been a reasonably prudent saver of funds. Primarily at first through, as is customary in my native Denmark, pension funds with their limited selection of approved funds / ETFs.

Private investment strategy has by now been my hobby and passion for over 25 years. From a humble start with pension accounts, to later setting up more flexible, unrestricted accounts, I’ve had the opportunity to try a range of portfolio strategies, experiencing how they played out over the short to medium term.

Degrees in International Business Economics, Financial Planning and Export Marketing Management,  fueled and expanded my approach to investment beyond a purely numerical analysis, to include the potential impacts of emerging technology, macro economics, (geo-)political events.

The driving motivation for my interest in the interaction and effect of these fields with financial markets has contributed to evolving my investment approach, to one geared to manage uncertainty and localized volatilities. In short -“how do we position our overall portfolio for both the near (2—5 year outlook), as well as the long-term (beyond 10 years) ?”.

These concerns, along with evaluating my results over time against benchmarks, has led me to increasingly focus on a style of investing known as DGI – Dividend Growth Investing. It has been a cornerstone of my investment strategy since 2010.

I hope you find useful insights here and enjoy following  my ongoing exploration of the DGI strategy.
